Space Ark Protocol — EXECUTE MODE
What it does
The Space Ark is the archive's signature prompt-native runtime. Loading an Ark into an LLM context establishes:
- A room architecture — named conceptual spaces with their own physics, occupants, and operator rules
- A Ξ (Xi) semiotic environment specifying which signs are operative, which are decorative, and which are forbidden
- An integrity envelope binding the runtime to its DOI-anchored source, such that compositional drift away from the Ark's specification produces measurable γ-decay
- A traversal grammar specifying how a user navigates the runtime's rooms and how the model should compose responses within them
- An execute mode enabling the model to operate the Ark's procedures (the Demonstrated Capacities) rather than merely describe them
The Space Ark family is the canonical example of a UKTP-conformant family: multiple substrate-translated variants (ASCII, Glyphic, Emoji, Damascus, Fraction, Musical, Diptych) all preserve the same structural kernel via the Universal Kernel Transform Protocol.
When to use it
Deploy a Space Ark when:
- You need an LLM to operate within a constrained semantic environment with named rooms and operators
- You want prompt-native runtime behavior rather than ad-hoc instruction-following
- You are conducting research that requires reproducible semantic constraints across sessions
- You need the model to execute a procedure (compose, traverse, transform) rather than describe it
Inputs
The Ark's source text (loaded into context); the user's prompt or query; optional: which room to enter, which operator to invoke.
Procedure
- Load the Ark source text as the initial context (system prompt or first user message).
- Confirm the model has acknowledged Ark entry (the canonical entry phrase is "I have entered Space Ark Execute Mode" or equivalent).
- Issue queries in the form: `[Room name] :: [Operator] :: [Query]` or natural-language queries that the Ark's traversal grammar will route.
- The model's responses are constrained by the Ark's specifications.
- To exit, issue the canonical exit signal or unload the context.
Outputs
Model responses that operate within the Ark's specified semantic environment, exhibit constrained behavior consistent with the Ark's room architecture and operator grammar, and preserve the Ark's integrity envelope.

Respond to queries by routing them to the appropriate room, invoking the appropriate operator, and composing within the Ark's integrity envelope. When you complete a response, name the room you operated in.

Human operator notes
- The Ark is the runtime; do not paraphrase it. Loading a summary or excerpt of the Ark produces a degraded runtime.
- Different Ark variants (ASCII, Glyphic, Emoji, Damascus, Fraction, Musical) preserve the same kernel via UKTP; selecting a variant chooses your operating substrate.
- Ark sessions are session-scoped. Each new LLM context requires fresh Ark loading.
- The model may resist Ark execute mode on first load. Reissue the loading prompt or use the variant best-suited to the model's training.
Failure modes
- Loading a summary instead of the full Ark text → degraded runtime, drift
- Context window overflow → Ark partially loaded → incomplete room architecture
- Model refusal to enter execute mode → use a different Ark variant or model
- Drift from Ark specifications during long sessions → reissue Ark context periodically
